INtroduction to sourdough In-person workshop
Learn how to make sourdough bread in-person with Bethany, owner of bent willow. This wonderful 5 hour workshop at the bent willow bakery will take you step-by-step through the whole process of baking your own sourdough loaf.
We will start with an introduction to the theory behind the process and then jump right in to getting your hands ‘doughy.’ You will learn everything from creating and maintaining your own starter to kneading, shaping and baking your own loaf of sourdough right in the middle of our bakery.
Each participant will create, from start to finish, their own country sourdough loaf that they can take home.
This class is ideal for anyone who doesn't have any prior knowledge of sourdough baking, or for seasoned bakers who want to learn more detail about how to make remarkable sourdough bread. This 5 hour workshop will take place in The Bent Willow Bakery in Franklin, NC. A light lunch is included.
The workshop is taught entirely in-person by Bethany herself and is limited to 6-8 participants.
The class costs $175 and includes a sourdough starter and instructions on how to make your own. You’ll take home everything you make and a goodie bag with items you’ll need to carry on your practice!
We’ll provide a light lunch and bethany will be available for all your Sourdough questions!
Please bring something to take notes with. Although you’ll receive a full handout, it’s always useful if any questions come up, or you have extra notes you want to write down.
We recommend you wear comfortable clothes with closed toed shoes that you are happy getting covered in flour!!
